How to Use Custom Brushes in Photoshop

Illustrators have long counted on Photoshop's custom brush-making functionality to create works of art, but top photographers also rely on brushes to accomplish natural-looking style and effects. Far from simply drawing on top of an image, custom brushes can provide convincing atmosphere to photographs that look like they existed in the original shoot. Phlearn's Aaron Nace breaks down how custom brushes work and how they can effectively enhance an image in a workflow video that adds layers of rain to a photo.

This video tutorial covers:

- Adjusting Brush Spacing

- Adjusting Brush Hardness

- Tilting a Brush Angle

- Tweaking Angle Jitter

- Utilizing Pressure Sensitivity

- Painting Realistically In Multiple Planes

- Using Blur Tools
