Using Topology Tools in Modo with a Wacom Tablet

Digital 3D modeling is a sophisticated art with its own vocabulary, tools and techniques, but the principles behind manipulating millions of polygons are as easy to grasp as kneading a ball of clay.

Using the Cintiq 27QHD, The Foundry's Greg Brown shows some of the basic functions of the developer's powerful 3D design software, Modo. The quick demo shows how a user can start out with a basic figure and go on to add on layers of depth at the speed of their stylus.

Topics include

- Detailing on top of wireframes

- Manipulating mesh

- Adding and positioning polygons

- Compatibility with Pixologic's ZBrush software
