How students at BELA High School celebrated International Artists’ Day

October 26, 2022

Students everywhere use Wacom tablets in the classroom to get creative — no matter the subject area. Brooklyn Emerging Leaders Academy (BELA), an all-girls public charter school located in the Bedford-Stuyvesent neighborhood of New York City is no exception.

Celina Bertoncini is a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) teacher at BELA, and for International Artists’ Day, held on October 25th every year, she encouraged her students to get creative.

Some students learned to sketchnote to support their learning in Biology classes. Other students in an IB film class learned to create digital storyboards to support their film creation using Wacom tablets. And BELA’s drawing club learned how to create masterpieces digitally as well.

To see what the students created this year, read on!
