Slowly recovering from a fun weekend with young creatives and artists who created some real icons – like The Simpsons, The Walking Dead or Spideypool. For another year, Wacom sponsored LICAF, The Lakes International Comic Arts Festival in Kendal, UK. It was a blast!
We hosted the Cartoon CafΓ© where visitors could relax, shelter from the rain and casually test and try the Wacom MobileStudio Pro. Art students from Kendal College on site helped people with the software and explained the products.
Throughout the two days, several comic artists stopped by at the CafΓ© and held demo sessions on the Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 + Engine. Artists included Emma Vieceli, Steve McGarry, Mikiko, Abi Kerner, Luke McGarry, Jake Phillips, and Marc Jackson.
Wacom also held a series of lectures hosted by Glen Southern. We invited students from several colleges and art schools to 3 workshops on how to use ZBrush and a Wacom MobileStudio Pro for their comic art. Students came from Priestley College, the University of Cumbria Institute of the Arts and the Manchester School of Art at Manchester Metropolitan University.
