Don’t you always roll your eyes when the prince falls for the princess? I know I do. I want the prince to fall for the mutant. I want the princess to be into older women and fall for her fairy godmother. In all honesty, Moby Dick and the Shark from Jaws should have babies (cue Careless Whisper by George Michael).

Here’s the thing, I know I’m not alone. I know you also have alternate storylines for your character crushes. My team and I challenge you to match (or mismatch) your favorite characters across time, genres, studios, universes, or species to create the most perfect and unlikely love stories.

Frida Khalo marries David Bowie. Fred Flintstone and Curious George match on Tinder. Dwayne Douglas Johnson The Rock frees Britney. In this challenge, love knows no boundaries.

The challenge:
Create these unlikely love stories among two characters and share them on Instagram with the hashtag #WacomCharacterCrush for a chance to win amazing prizes, including a Wacom Cintiq 22!

How to enter:
Follow @Wacom on Instagram and share your character crush creation using the hashtag #WacomCharacterCrush. You may enter as many crushes as you wish.

Judges and Voting:
The Wacom social team and our guest judge, Colombian artist Alejo Giraldo, will pick the best 6 character crushes and put them up for a popular vote on Instagram to find the ultimate 3 winners. Be original and have fun! This challenge isn’t all about drawing skills, so surprise us with the most unique and impossibly romantic #WacomCharacterCrush.

The Prizes

1st place: Wacom Cintiq 22
2nd place: Wacom Cintiq 16
3rd place: Wacom One
4, 5, 6 place: Wacom Intuos

Who can participate: 

Anyone with a good character crush idea and the passion to make it happen. This challenge is open to anyone in North America and Latin America. Entries do not have to be digital art or made on Wacom products.

The timing 

  • The call for entries begins on February 1st and will end on February 11th at 11:59pm PST.
  • Semifinalists will be announced on Wacom’s Instagram for a popular vote on Friday, February 12th.
  • Our community will have an entire Valentine’s day weekend to vote for their favorites.
  • Winners will be announced on Monday the 15th!
