If you follow Wacom on social media — which you surely are, right? We’re on Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, Tik Tok, and LinkedIn — you’ve probably seen some of our short videos with Lucas Piaceski aka @lplucas.
Lucas is a Brazilian illustrator, animator, and musician who caught our attention a few years ago on Instagram as one of our most active community members. His quirky style, relatable humor, and genuine willingness share his art skills and experience with others won us over.
Recently, he shared some quick, semi-serious tips for artists, like in the below video: “3 Things You Drew Wrong As A Child.” Did you ever draw feet facing outward? Or thumbs facing the wrong direction? Or blue clouds on a white background?
If you’re like many artists, you did all three — and after the jokes, he actually gives some pretty good advice for how to actually go about drawing good clouds. Check it out:
For some hilarious, but not as helpful advice that’s still relevant in many places of the world — here at Wacom Americas HQ in Portland, OR, the forecast is calling for 100-degree heat — he has the following video, “3 Tips for Surviving Summer As An Artist.”
Whether dressing down, making art set in a cold environment, or using an array of fans to keep cool will work for you is not guaranteed. Check it out:
Want to learn more about Lucas and check out his work and more of his content? We did an interview with him in 2022 that you can read by clicking here. And of course, keep up with his work on social media! He’s on Instagram, YouTube, Tik Tok, and has a website.
