- Eligibility
The Wacom Animation Dance Party 2021 Contest (the “Contest”) is open only to attendees of the 2021 LightBox Expo who are at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of entry and located in North America, Latin America (excluding Venezuela) or Canada. Officers, directors, and employees (collectively, “Employees”) of Wacom and its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, and advertising and promotions agencies are not eligible to participate in the Contest. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and void where prohibited by law.
- Agreement to Rules
By participating in the Contest, each contestant (“you” or “your”) agrees to be fully and unconditionally bound by these rules. You represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements, and further agree to accept the decisions of Wacom as final and binding as it relates to the content and operation of this Contest.
- Contest Period
Entries in the Contest will be accepted starting on August 12, 2021 at 8:00 am PDT, and ending on September 7, 2021 at 11:59 pm PDT.
- How to Enter
Referencing music provided by Wacom, animators should use their favorite software to create a dance cycle that loops and satisfies the following specs:
- PNG files (numbered in order using triple digits with leading zeroes ex: 001.png) inside a .zip file
- 1200 x 1200px
- RGB Color
- E-mail your dance cycle to contest@wacom.com with the Subject Heading “ADP 2021 Submission”
The deadline for entries is September 7 at 11:00PM.
The judging will be based on
Entertainment value – 10 points
Technical animation ability – 10 points
Character Design – 10 points
The highest scores will determine 3 winners and 1 honorable mention.

- Odds
Odds of winning depend on how many eligible entries are received.
- Winner Selection and Notification
Four (4) Winners will be selected by a panel of four (4) judges. The winner will be selected based on the animation prompt and judging criteria outline in section 4. The winner will be announced at the Animation Dance Party Panel at LightBox Expo on September 11, 2021, at 3:00pm PDT. Wacom will have no liability for a Winner’s failure to receive notices due to spam, junk e-mail, or other security settings, or for a Winner’s providing incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. If the Winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the Prize within seventy-two (72) hours from the time the Prize notification is made, or fails to timely sign and return any requested Prize Claim Documents (defined below), or if any Prize is refused by a Winner or returned as undelivered, the Prize may be forfeited and an alternate Winner selected. Prizes will be delivered within three (3) to nine (9) weeks after a Winner is notified, pending product availability. Winners may be required, as requested by Wacom, to sign and return (within the time period requested by Wacom) an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability, and (where permitted by law) a Publicity Release (collectively, the “Prize Claim Documents”). Receipt by a Winner of the Prize is conditioned upon compliance with any and all federal, state and local laws and regulations. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE RULES BY A WINNER (AT WACOM’S SOLE DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN THE WINNER’S DISQUALIFICATION AS A WINNER OF THE CONTEST, AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS A WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY FORFEITED AND TERMINATED.
- Rights Granted by You
By entering this Contest or otherwise accepting a Prize, you understand and agree that Wacom, anyone acting on behalf of Wacom, and Wacom’s affiliates, licensees, successors, and assigns, shall have the right, where permitted by law, to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use in any media now known or hereafter developed, in perpetuity and throughout the world, without limitation, your entry, name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, image, statements about the Contest, and biographical information for news, publicity, information, trade, advertising, public relations, and promotional purposes, without any further compensation, notice, review, or consent. Nothing herein gives you any rights to any intellectual property owned by Wacom.
- General Conditions
The official clock for purposes of measuring the Contest Period, is a part of Wacom’s internal computer systems, and Wacom reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest should any virus, bug, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other factor beyond its control corrupt, impair or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Contest, as determined by Wacom in its sole discretion. In such a case, Wacom may select Winners from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by Wacom. Wacom reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, Wacom’s promotional communications, or violates these rules. Wacom reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to maintain the integrity of the Contest and to void entries for any reason, including without limitation: multiple entries from the same computer in excess of that allowed by these rules; the use of bots, macros, scripts or other technical means for entering; cheating; hacking; deception; or other unfair playing practices or conduct intended to abuse, threaten, or harass other entrants. These rules and any other Wacom promotional materials may not be published elsewhere without the express written consent of Wacom, which may be withheld for any reason. Wacom is not responsible for electronic transmission errors resulting in omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft, or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions or limitations of any kind, or inaccurate transmissions of or failure to receive entry information by Wacom on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, at any website, or any combination thereof.
Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Wacom reserves the right to seek damages from any such entrant to the fullest extent of the law.
- Release; Disclaimer
You agree that Wacom and its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies (the “Contest Entities”), and all Employees thereof: (i) shall not be responsible or liable for, and are hereby released from, any and all costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind, including, without limitation, death and bodily injury, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, to participation in the Contest or any Contest-related activity, or from your acceptance, receipt, possession, and/or use or misuse of any Prize; and (ii) have not made any warranty, representation, or guarantee express or implied, in fact or in law, with respect to any Prize, including, without limitation, to such Prize’s quality or fitness for a particular purpose. Other than in connection with any consumer warranties included with the Prize, the Contest Entities make no representations or warranties, and hereby disclaim any and all such representations and warranties, express or implied, concerning any Prize furnished in connection with the Contest. - Limitation of Liability
The Contest Entities are not responsible for and you hereby release and agree to hold harmless the Contest Entities, their respective Employees, from any and all claims arising from: (i) incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information or lost, stolen, illegible, incomplete, misdirected entries, or entries received through impermissible or illegitimate channels, all of which are void and will be disqualified; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunctioning of any telephone, computer, network, hardware, or software; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any website or any other service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process for the Contest and/or incomplete or inaccurate information being displayed on any website whether due to unauthorized human intervention, equipment failure, malfunction, or other cause; (v) electronic or human error that may occur in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; or (vi) any injury or damage to persons or property, including but not limited to, your computer (or any information/materials stored thereon), which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by your participation in the Contest or from downloading any material from any website(s), regardless of whether the material was prepared by Wacom or a third party, and regardless of whether the material is connected to any such website by a hypertext link.
- Disputes/Choice of Law
Except where prohibited by law, you agree that: (i) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Contest or any Prize awarded in connection therewith shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by state or federal courts situated in the State of Oregon; (ii) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event attorneys’ fees; (iii) no punitive, incidental, special, consequential, or other damages, including without limitation lost profits may be awarded (collectively, “Special Damages”); and (iv) entrant hereby waives all rights to claim Special Damages, and all rights to have such damages multiplied or increased. Oregon law (with the sole exception of the choice of law/conflict of law rules of the State of Oregon), governs the Contest and all aspects related thereto including construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these rules. You agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in Multnomah County, Oregon.
