{"id":2314,"date":"2019-08-30T21:16:57","date_gmt":"2019-08-30T21:16:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eu.shop.wacom.eu\/us\/?p=2314"},"modified":"2026-06-05T09:23:07","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T16:23:07","slug":"my-journey-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/community.wacom.com\/en-us\/my-journey-home\/","title":{"rendered":"My Journey Home"},"content":{"rendered":"If you've ever been to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sideshow.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wacom<\/a> booth at San Diego Comic Con, you may have seen a presentation by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sideshow.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sideshow Collectible<\/a>'s artist, JP Mavinga. Incredibly talented, JP is one of the most humble and self-deprecating people we know. In fact, we only accidentally learned of this video that was done for an artist profile series on the Sideshow blog when one of his colleagues showed it to us. The video tells of JP's journey to the US and his journey to become the artist, and the kind of person, he is today.\n\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/C3P6c7jVQTI\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>If you're going to tell a story, specifically your story, there is no more powerful way to do it, than drawing. Once I incorporated that into my value system, I've felt uncomfortable if I didn't draw. With time, I found that what matters is the human connections we make. Reaching people is in many ways why we're here. If I take that to a professional framework, like what should I be making, I think it's the thing that reaches people's hearts. There's something more profound to be said about this world in my life, and that's why for me, that story telling path, is essential.
