{"id":3663,"date":"2020-03-04T20:08:03","date_gmt":"2020-03-04T20:08:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eu.shop.wacom.eu\/us\/?p=3663"},"modified":"2026-06-05T09:25:23","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T16:25:23","slug":"raahat-kadujis-wacom-one-illustration-process","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/community.wacom.com\/en-us\/raahat-kadujis-wacom-one-illustration-process\/","title":{"rendered":"Raahat Kaduji’s Wacom One Illustration Process"},"content":{"rendered":"\u201cI spent much of my childhood amongst trees, pencils and paper,\u201d says<\/a> British-Indian illustrator, animal rights activist, and self-described \u201cwoodland walker\u201d Raahat Kaduji.\n\n\u201cI\u2019ve always had an affinity with nature, but if I wasn\u2019t outside in the woods with friends, building dens and climbing trees, I was inside turning my daydreams into collages and penciled drawings.\u201d\n\nShe still lives in her childhood home outside Oxford, where \u201cMy creative journey is deeply rooted in my beginnings:\u201d Her dad was a video game and VFX artist, and \u201cI grew up with his paintings on my bedroom walls, his sketchbooks on my bookshelf, and a treasure trove of his old painting materials.\u201d\n\nShe wears her backstory on her sleeve, painting primarily nature, lone human intrusions on nature\u2014a cottage<\/a>, a stone bridge<\/a>, or in the following video, a lighthouse\u2014or anthropomorphic animals<\/a>; and the dark colors and fog of English forests often come through in her work. Earth tones dominate her palettes; her environments are more often than not cloudy or low-chroma.\n\n\"\"\n\nHer flat style evokes both storybooks and collage, but there\u2019s a strong sense of graphic design in her shape-based compositions. The overall effect is a sense of both peace and aloofness, like a distant world you can dream about, but never quite enter.\n\n\"\"\n\n \n
