We love Joli Noelle David\u2019s infectious personality and openness to sharing her experience as a design student at UC Davis on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@JoliNoelleDavid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">her YouTube channel<\/a>. So we sent her one of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/community.wacom.com\/en-us\/wacom-one-pen-display-and-tablet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">new Wacom Ones<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 the medium pen tablet version \u2014 to get her thoughts and impressions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/community.wacom.com\/en-us\/3-ways-use-wacom-one-pen-tablet\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/community.wacom.com\/en-us\/3-ways-use-wacom-one-pen-tablet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the last post and video<\/a>, she showcased three of the many different ways she uses her Wacom One pen tablet. I also use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=yA9j0F4Z8bg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Yarron\u2019s Cartoons tutorial<\/a> on how to make a pressure sensitive brush in Illustrator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The golden rule of modern calligraphy:<\/strong> Upstrokes = thin \/ Downstrokes = thick! Using this basic principle will transform the look of your handwriting and give it that iconic calligraphy look!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Some exercises to practice:<\/strong> I share some helpful exercises to practice this rule, such as writing 'n' and 'u' shapes and connecting them to create wavy lines. These practices will help you get used to the calligraphic strokes!
