The annual awards, now in their 52nd year, are the animation industry\u2019s premiere celebration of the craft of animation. Winners were announced on February 8, 2025 for 32 competition categories covering animation in feature films, television, event programming, shorts, VFX, games, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wacom was proud to be the part of the Annie Awards again this year \u2013 both to celebrate the winners, including friend and longtime Wacom user <a href=\"https:\/\/community.wacom.com\/en-us\/how-aaron-blaise-created-snow-bear\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Aaron Blaise,<\/a> and to announce our participation in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asifa-hollywood.org\/animaid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AnimAID initiative<\/a> to support artists affected by the January 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. All Rights Reserved.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Congratulations to the winners<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dreamworks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dreamworks Animation<\/a>'s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt29623480\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Wild Robot<\/a> practically swept the awards with nine wins, from Best Feature to Character Animation to Production Design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Independent feature <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt4772188\/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_2_tt_6_nm_0_in_0_q_flow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Flow<\/a> and Netflix's <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt11126994\/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_7_nm_1_in_0_q_arcane\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Arcane<\/a> also brought home a number of awards, as did <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt28066777\/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_4_nm_4_in_0_q_orion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Orion and the Dark<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt8041658\/?ref_=fn_all_ttl_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A legend is recognized: Aaron Blaise<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Legendary animator and friend of Wacom <a href=\"https:\/\/community.wacom.com\/en-us\/how-aaron-blaise-created-snow-bear\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Aaron Blaise<\/a> was honored with the <a href=\"https:\/\/annieawards.org\/juried-awards\/winsor-mccay\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Winsor McCay Award<\/a>. Named in honor of animator Winsor McCay, a pioneer in the art of comic strips and animation, the award is one of the highest honors given to an individual in the animation industry, recognizing their contributions over their career. Formed in collaboration with ASIFA-Hollywood, industry co-workers and animation studios, big and small, the fund has already raised thousands. Next is a prestigious online auction in partnership with Sotheby\u2019s scheduled for late March, with other events to come.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Beyond a donation: How Wacom is supporting artists affected by wildfires<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the announcement at the Annie Awards, more has happened, and Wacom is proud to have continued its support of those affected by the fires. Here\u2019s what Wacom has accomplished so far:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Donation of Wacom Products<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wacom is partnering with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tagalliances.com\/about-us\/tag-foundation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TAG Foundation<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/animationguild.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Animation Guild<\/a> to help over 50 members who lost their homes. We\u2019re also coordinating with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oddbot.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">OddBot Studios<\/a> to donate 37 of their older Cintiqs, ensuring affected artists have the tools they need to keep creating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Pop-Up Creative Workspaces<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">USC, UCLA, CalArts, and other institutions have opened their doors to provide safe spaces for displaced artists to continue working.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Partnership with Resellers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wacom has also partnered with the TAG Foundation and the Animation Guild to ensure over 50 affected members receive discounts and donated Cintiqs.
