MSK Spirit & his Neo-Futuristic designs

English version below ⬇⬇⬇

My name is Fer Spirit, my real last name is “Espíritu”, hence the “Spirit” I am a digital artist from Mexico City, I studied Graphic Design and I got to work right away, after 2 years of working in agency I decided that what I really wanted to do was illustration, so I bought a Wacom tablet and a digital camera, my idea was to take portrait photography and then redraw them with the help of the tablet to turn them into art.

After doing that for a while while while taking photos I felt a strong attraction for the growing city of Mexico with its growing  buildings of modern architecture, living on the outskirts of the city I had to see from the hills how this new city of big skyscrapers was formed, so I started to document with my camera the horizon of the city and the new buildings, at that moment I thought of opening an Instagram account in which I would upload one photo a day, and everything began to make sense as I discovered a community of photographers who were dedicated day by day to upload spectacular portraits and pictures of the city, I began to look for the best scenarios and the best views in the company of my new friends to capture them, I became a photographer but my passion for illustration and digital manipulation were still present.

So one day I took my Wacom tablet again and began to draw on my photographs of buildings, my idea was to represent the city as I experienced it, my vision, a utopian model of the city achieved through a game of lights created at certain times of dusk and dawn, when the sun is reflected on the walls of buildings, I loved to spend more and more time editing photographs and experienced how color can affect the mood of the scene, I began to get involved with new concepts such as Synaesthesia especially the influence of sound on geometric shapes, and I immediately knew I wanted to do it to the buildings but for that I needed to learn to animate and make video, just what I needed to keep my passion for creation alive, so I started experimenting with the timelapse videos I had done in my photographic outings and I decided to learn After Effects,  I discovered that editing video was also fascinating to me, so that’s what I do now, my idea is to represent a futuristic and avant-garde Mexico City, a utopia, editing video in an artistic way has poured my interest in VFX, special effects in video created by computer, I think I still have a lot to learn but I am proud to have taken Mexico City as the basis of my work, I feel very happy when a foreigner asks me about the city, and break their paradigms about Mexico. My goal is to create a short film or film in which the effects I make are part of something with greater meaning, to integrate them into a script, into a story that can inspire people and generate a change in the conception of Mexico City.
