Becoming a Costume Concept Artist – Insights and advice from a real pro
Join Gina DeDomenico-Flanagan, one of the entertainment industry’s most prolific and talented costume concept artists, as she shares her expertise on what it takes to become a professional artist in her field, how to stay there, as well as the things you must do to maintain your creative thinking and illustration skills. A graduate of the Parsons School of Design in New York, Gina’s talent was recognized by the school with the coveted Bob Mackie Gold Thimble Award. Since turning professional, Gina has worked on a variety of blockbuster films and TV shows, including Galaxy Quest and Escape from LA to name a few. A favorite career highlight was working with Oscar-winning designer Ruth Carter on projects such as Malcolm X and Amistad. Today, Gina is working on five shows with DC Streaming Universe. And, if that’s not enough, she also lends her skills to UCLA, teaching classes on illustration, both traditional and digital. So, get ready to be entertained by Gina’s contagious enthusiasm, stories and illustrations. She’s looking forward to answering all of your questions. It’s going to be fun.
