An intrepid crew of artists is settling a brand new galaxy — Minerva. And there’s still time to join them.
KitBash3D is hosting a challenge: Mission to Minerva. Participating artists are using KitBash3D’s tools and tutorials to create 3d outposts in the newly-discovered Minerva galaxy. Their creations will be judged by powerhouse judges from a variety of creative industries, and winners will receive epic prizes from Wacom, NVIDIA, ArtStation, KitBash3D and more!
The challenge is already underway. Read on to see what people have created so far and how to join, as well as more information about who will be judging and what prizes are at stake.
What is KitBash3D?
KitBash3D enables and inspires creators of the virtual frontier by producing and distributing libraries of fully customizable 3D models. They offer more than 10,000 premium assets used to create everything from futuristic utopias, to devastated war zones, cyberpunk underworlds, bustling modern metropolises, and much more.
Since 2017, KitBash3D assets have been used on hundreds of feature film, television, and game projects to bring immersive, cinematic, and interactive worlds to life for entertainment companies including Marvel, Netflix, HBO, Ubisoft, Naughty Dog, 2K Games, as well as thousands of independent artists around the world.

Mission to Minerva challenge participants are in the running for a slate of incredible prizes. They include:

Talent Acquisition, Netflix
Paullina Weeks is a recruiter at Netflix who covers production and CG roles for Netflix Animation Feature Films. She has spent the last thirteen years working in the Animation and VFX industry. She also has a background in video games.

Devon Fay
Art Director, Riot Games
Devon Fay is a game developer with more than 10 years of experience working in video games and cinematics. He has worked on major video game franchises such as Call of Duty, Diablo, StarCraft, and World of Warcraft. At Riot Games, he helped develop the style for VALORANT.

Shannon Wiggins
Talent Recruiter, Industrial Light & Magic
Shannon has worked in the entertainment industry for over 25 years, working in film, commercials, games, virtual reality, and animation. She has worked on films such as Shrek, the Transformers, and the Matrix sequels. Currently she works in visual effects recruitment for Industrial Light & Magic.

Paweล Mielniczuk
Art Director, CD PROJEKT RED
Paweล Mielniczuk is a character artist and sculptor with a background in programming who has worked with CD PROJEKT RED since 2006. He worked on The Witcher games, and directed the characters, weapons, and vehicle art departments for Cyberpunk 2077.

Michael Lentz
Art Director, NASA
Michael Lentz is the art director for the Conceptual Image Lab at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, which creates art and animation.
