After an epic four days at New York Comic Con, we’re still feeling the buzz. The energy of the show, from the eccentric cosplayers to the incredible creatives tabling at Artist Alley, lingers as we look back on our favorite #NYCC19 moments.
A friend to break the ice
We’d like to thank our friend Jason Chatfield for partnering with us to interview the amazing artists who make NYCC unforgettable. We had a blast exploring the exhibit floor and Artist Alley with Jason, as well as learning more about our favorite artists along the way. Check out a few of our interviews on our IGTV and YouTube channel.
Friends at the booth
This year, we shared our booth with Fahim Niaz from Graphixly and Clip Studio Paint artists Sarajean Chung, Luciannys Camacho, Yuki Wu, and Joy Huang who demoed their drawing and painting chops throughout the entirety of the event. Attendees explored Clip Studio Paint’s innovative features such as the 3D modeling figures on our Cintiq line and new MobileStudio Pro.
Staying mobile
Our social media team also strolled through Artist Alley with the new MobileStudio Pro to allow creatives to take our latest launch for a spin. Artists were impressed by this mobile tool, namely for its etched glass, lending a more natural feel and the precision and control of the Pro Pen 2, offering 8,192 levels of pressure.
Cosplay for days
NYCC wouldn’t be the same without the attendees and their extravagant costumes. One of our favorites was designed by Ryan Jude Novelline, a contemporary artist who creates fashion pieces digitally using his Intuos 3. His costumed model had heads turning and cameras flashing, and we couldn’t help but snap a photo too.
An evening with toy designers
On Friday, we hosted an evening with New York toy designers at the Society of Illustrators. Toy fanatics enjoyed light refreshments and bites while learning from our featured guests who demoed their toy design processes on the Cintiq Pro 24. The cozy setting enabled aspiring toy designers to chat one on one with our talented special guests.
Until next time
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth during NYCC to talk art, draw, or simply keep our booth staff company. We enjoyed meeting creatives of all ages and were impressed by the art that was made at our booth. We hope to see some new as well as familiar faces next year!
