How MovinkPad 11 became the perfect digital sketchbook Jennifer Lee (Cloverleaf Pie) was looking for

12/09/2025

Meet Jennifer Lee! She's an illustrator, small-business owner, and the creative mind behind Cloverleaf Pie. From plushies to stickers to apparel, her characters often begin life on scraps of paper, sticky notes, or the margins of her daily to-do lists. In the video below, Jennifer puts the Wacom MovinkPad 11 to the test and shows how it fits naturally into her creative workflow.

Jennifer created Cloverleaf Pie to sell all kinds of products that she has designed: stickers, prints, plushies, apparel, and more. She also shows her work at pop-ups, craft fairs, and local coffee shops around Northern California.

She recently finished up a Kickstarter to create a super-cute product: Cheeky Foodie Crewnecks! Check out the campaign here, or visit her online shop to see those and all of the other incredibly precious products and designs she has created.

Her process typically looks like this: sketch out ideas for new designs or new products on random scraps of paper, and then eventually transfer them to her computer to finalize in Photoshop! These scraps could be the margins of a to-do list, sticky notes, or other ephemera. She never got into the habit of keeping a sketchbook – but when she laid eyes on the Wacom MovinkPad 11, she considered whether that could change things!

The MovinkPad 11 is light, she says, and the matte screen is perfect for drawing. "My most recent project features some tomato monkeys," she says. She thought she might "play around with it and maybe do a couple sketches," but it turned out to be so useful, that she incorporated it more fully into her design process!

She's often on the move, which is why sketches take place in the margins of other documents or on sticky notes. So having a portable, full-featured digital sketchbook has been great. "It's portable enough for me to take to events ... or just to keep next to my bed so I can draw something down real quick," she says. She can even draw next to her pet bunny without having to worry about him chewing the paper! "I can also easily import them to my computer ... without having to sort through all sorts of paper or needing to scan anymore. There's also a camera, so I'm able to just snap photos of my sketches [on paper] and put them all on the tablet as well."

When she's designing a plush toy, the final design has to be very clean. But in the design process, she draws the characters in action. This also helps because the final product can also include a little art card to go with it, so it's more than just a plush!

"I think that the most impressive part," she says, "is how it feels just like traditional art ... I feel like I'm back in art school all over again with my giant sketch pads. I totally see how this would be a great way for people to get back into figure drawing practice ... I haven't done it in quite a while, and I probably should!"

Jennifer used a sketching app, available in the Google Play store, to plan her illustration for later on. Once she's happy with it, she'll import it to her computer to finalize in Photoshop. Users who are familiar with or want to try Clip Studio Paint, however, can take a sketch and finish it right on the device – MovinkPad 11 comes with a two-year license to use Clip Studio Paint software!

Overall, what does she think? "The MovinkPad 11 is just great ... I prefer sketching on this over my iPad. Maybe it's just because I'm so used to Wacom pens already? I love how it acts just like pen and paper." It also solves a specific problem she had: "It really helps solve the issue I have with leaving my sketches all over the place ... I think it's a super portable option for anyone who travels a lot."
