Join us at the Wacom Experience Center in Portland, OR on February 15th, 2024 for an insightful journey into the world of graphic storytelling with the brilliant artists and creators behind “The Black Box Chronicles.”
The Black Box Chronicles is a sci-fi comics anthology chronicling mankind’s first steps into interstellar space, as pieced together from the records recovered from the wreckage of various spacecraft found throughout the cosmos. It’s a bold series of tales by a luminous collection of comics’ greatest creators spanning centuries of a fantastic yet plausible future.
Set in the age known as The Great Outward Expansion, wherein mankind has not only left Sol Prime to colonize other planets but other star systems as well. Humanityβs natural instinct to explore is given free rein through exponentially advancing technology, reaching new plateaus of knowledge faster than anyone could have imagined. But regardless of how much data and processing power civilization achieves, we all face our final moments when we pass into βThe Great Dark.β
The anthology also includes a Visual Encyclopedia, an exhaustive world-building art book exploring the setting and technology of The Black Box Chronicles with sketches, detailed schematics, and both visual and technical explorations of vehicles, devices, space stations, and more.

The Wacom Experience Center Event
On February 15, 2024, The Wacom Experience Center Portland will be hosting a live panel featuring the creators of The Black Box Chronicles. During the panel, attendees will hear from a handful of the artists, authors and creatives that brought this anthology to life — including Mike Oeming, Taki Soma, Eryk Donovan, Shane Molina, Chris Northrop, and Mark Schey.
We’ll also be raffling off some fun Magnetic Press/Horrible Future swag, including signed prints and hardback copies of the Black Box Chronicles.
