Since their humble origins, glasses have evolved from being categorized as medical appliances, to objects of ridicule (“four eyes”) to something of a ‘geek-chic’ fashion statement. According to the American Vision Council, a non profit trade organization serving diverse segments of the optical industry, over 182 million adults in the US currently wear prescription glasses.
